LA PEZZUOLA

Agritourism in Borzone

ABOUT US

Agritourism apartments for sleeping near the Abbey of Borzone, in the municipality of Borzonasca

The La Pezzuola agritourism site is located in Borzone, a village in the middle of the Sturla Valley and belonging to the municipality of Borzonasca, which is inland from Chiavari in the province of Genoa. It is situated at an altitude of about 400 metres above sea level and is very close to the Aveto Regional Nature Reserve. Easily accessible both on foot and by car, it is completely surrounded by green woodland.

This is a place that is symbolic of rural culture and is capable of reinvigorating your senses, allowing you to breathe in the stillness of times gone by. It is also a strategic starting point for hiking routes through the Apennines and for visiting the many charming local sights in the surrounding area and on the eastern Ligurian coast, between Portofino and the Cinque Terre.

Ideal apartments for a holiday in Liguria

Surrounded by mountains and woods, perched on a rock overlooking the valleys below, this agritourism site features two marvellous apartments of about 90 m² each, spread over three levels, with their own private entrance and equipped with hot water, heating and a kitchenette. Each of them can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. Perfect for spending a holiday in Liguria surrounded by unspoilt nature. They are part of a rural building, an old farmhouse that was completely renovated in 2022 and whose adjacent shepherd’s huts still serve as the starting point for ancient trails.

Why choose us

A relaxing and immersive experience

Agritourism site near Borzone Abbey

La Pezzuola is the closest rural holiday accommodation to the ancient Borzone Abbey, built in 1184 and, in fact, it is only a 10-minute walk away. Successive Benedictine abbots administered the abbey until 1536. In that year, Pope Paul III transformed the Abbey into a Parish Commendam. In 1910, it was officially recognised as a national historic landmark.

Restaurants, trails and activities in the surrounding area

Nestling in the Sturla Valley, close to the Val d’Aveto, and surrounded by woodlands mostly consisting of chestnut and hazelnut groves, the valley descends rapidly from its over 1,000-metre-long ridge down to the sea, offering a rich cross-section of contrasting landscapes in the space of a few kilometres, from typically mountainous areas to landscapes with distinctly Mediterranean features, such as olive groves and rows of vines.

Why choose an agritourism establishment in the Ligurian countryside

Staying in an agritourism establishment to visit the eastern Ligurian Riviera is an ideal choice. The mild climate almost all year round, striking mountain scenery, historic villages, unique beaches and cliffs all create a truly unique landscape. You can use the apartment’s kitchen for quieter evenings or choose a local restaurant in which to enjoy the region’s traditional dishes.
