La Pezzuola agritourism apartments, our undying love for nature and Borzone
The La Pezzuola di Borzone holiday homes were created as a result of the undying love Elisa, her husband Aurelio and their children have for nature and for this enchanting place, which is why they decided to move the whole family to live in the La Pezzuola area of Borzone.
To retrace the origins of La Pezzuola, we have to take a step back into the past – to 1874 to be precise – when, following a renovation, the property consisted of the manor house, the farmhouse, the building where chestnuts were dried and the stable, all surrounded by five hectares of land. In the early 1970s, when the elderly owner passed away, his daughters put the family property up for sale and it was bought by a Genoese family to be used as a country house. Elisa and Aurelio, the current owners, bought it in 2004, and at that point a long process of restoration began – and continues to this day – of both the buildings and the land.
ABOUT US
The old farmhouse, which now houses the agritourism apartments, has been completely renovated, taking special care to salvage the original materials, such as the old chestnut wooden beams from the roof and ceilings, from which the internal stairs and bathroom furniture have been made. As for the furniture, almost all of it was salvaged from a Piedmontese farmhouse owned by the family and some from Ligurian farmhouses, like the marble dressers and sinks.
It’s a wonderful place where the couple, their two children, their dog Piuma – a beautiful and very sweet Maremma shepherd dog – and their two cats live surrounded by the magic weaved by completely unspoilt countryside. A relaxing and poetic spot that melds with age-old traditions and where time is marked by sunrises and sunsets.
